Flags for Heroes is an initiative started by Saint Ann Assembly 938 to recognize the people whose service, sacrifice, and everyday kindness make a difference in our lives.

A hero can be a veteran, first responder, teacher, parent, family member, or someone in the community. Whether their contributions are widely recognized or quietly made, Flags for Heroes offers a meaningful way to honor them and express our gratitude.

The American flags serve as a visible tribute to these individuals and a reminder that heroism takes many forms: protecting others, teaching and guiding, caring for a family, or answering a neighbor’s call for help. Through this initiative, Assembly 938 celebrates both service to our country and the acts of generosity that strengthen our communities.

The event was held on at Lackawanna County Courthouse Square in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Master Brian C. Hallock, Faithful Navigator William Hallock, and District Friar Rev. Gus Riccardi were present for the observance.

Assembly 938’s Flags for Heroes program received the To Be a Patriot Award for the 2022–2023 fraternal year, one of three international awards presented annually to Fourth Degree assemblies.
